Protestation Fatigue
Rolling Stone Magazine placed right smack, up front on its cover, Jahar Tsarnaey, the surviving brother of the two Boston Marathon bombers. America is making a big fuss about it, but so far the magazine producers are holding their ground. I sense that they have an understanding of human nature that every leader of anything successful must, and it is, that people become tired of monotony and there are few things as monotonous and energy-sapping as protestation. It is difficult to keep any type of protest going because in order for protestations to succeed there must be large numbers of people persistently, steadily, continuously in equal or near equal quantities, every time, every day repeatedly protesting. This is not easy to do. Some leaders know this and are quite aware that all they need do is outwait the protesters, for sooner or later protestation fatigue will begin to take its toll.
