Politics and Fire

They tell me that fire is a good servant but terrible master. All of us  learned early in our lives not to play with the flaming red monster. Wherever fire is, it is to be watched closely and controlled. There are many thousands of people who have gotten into their vehicles and driven all the way from places as distant as St. Pauls to Basseterre St.Kitts, and only after arriving in Basseterre recalled that they recall turning on the iron to iron their clothes, but have no recollection of turning it off. If there is someone in the community to call, they may very well get on a telephone and call that individual, begging him or her with trepidation in tone, to pass by  the house in St. Pauls and see, please see, "if I turned of the iron".
Fire is not a joke, especially for poor people. The wealthy is able to purchase property insurance and have his building restored like new, but the poor man or woman who loses his or her belongings in a blaze is plunged, in a few minutes, into beggarly circumstances. It is believed that Santa Clause is heavily employed at Christmas time, and Mr. Fire is never out of work in St. Kitts when it is felt that political elections can be sniffed in the atmosphere.
I am not one taken in by conspiracy theories. I believe that coincidences do occur, and do give rise to some rather strange-seemingly, collaborating circumstances, but I would hate to meet a prospective arsonist by any such coincidence; yet, one never knows, because life is chuck-full of coincidental happenings. Coincidences happen every single day of our lives. Many girlfriends, boyfriends, husbands and wives have met by sheer coincidence. I imagine arsonists are met by coincidences too, because when an arsonist is introduced to someone as a person slick and ignorant enough to create a destructive fire, and dead enough of soul to care nothing of the people who may lose their only source of income because they work at the arsonist's target,  nor care nothing of the neighbors of the targeted structure who shiver in terror of losing life and property, somewhere along the line of meeting this arsonist there would have been at least one coincidental link in the coming together of arsonist and his provoker or contractor. Perhaps there are coincidences between  the rise of political temperatures and the increase in destructive flames occurring in specific places and circumstances. Amazing. It almost as though Mr. coincidence has sense, and knows what place is owned by whom, and what targets might attract intentional attention, and when to prevent me from being able to turn on my computer and do my business. I want Mr. Coincidence to kindly behave himself.
