I know in St. Kitts some things come in bunches and some don't: guinips ( also known in Barbados as ackees) do, but mangoes don't. Bananas do, but coconuts don't, and once in a while we may have a bunch of idiots causing havoc in the country, but I never knew chemical weapons came in bunches until the President of The United States of America said so.
I have a rather visual sense of perception, and so I could not resist trying to associate bunch and chemical weapons coming together.
Now, I know what he meant, and I am sure every black (and I am certain white) American knows what their president meant also, but that does not prevent my mind from trying to picture chemical weapons coming in bunches. It's what he said he needed to be certain that the Syrian military used before he could determined it was time to take some form of retributive action; but not only did he say he was waiting to see what he described as a "bunch" of chemical weapons; he wants to see a whole bunch of it.
Now, when I go to buy guinips, I want a whole bunch, but I do not have the authority to tell the vendor that her whole bunch of guinips is not the same as my whole bunch of guinips. Her whole bunch might be smaller than what I think a whole bunch should be, but I cannot tell her that her whole bunch is not a whole bunch. If I don't agree that her whole bunch is my whole bunch, then I draw a line be it red, pink, purple or white. My line drawn is that I walk away with my money in my pocket and try to see if I can find another guinip vendor who agrees with me on the matter of what a whole bunch aught to look and feel like.
One of our calypsonian of our federation sang a calypso in which he repeated a whole bunch of times "English is a funny language", and perhaps that is the problem with the chemical weapon issue in Syria. Perhaps they don't agree that they as yet have used a bunch of chemical weapons, never mind to use a whole bunch. Maybe they think they have just used some of the bunch and not the whole one. Remember they do not speak Black American English, and the President of The United States of America is a Black American.
It is sad that so many men, women and children have perished as a result of the terrible war in Syria, and it is time to bring an end to it whether the chemical weapons used is a whole bunch or not.
